Day 3: Hanoi – Pu Luong | Meal: B -L - D | Overnight: Pu Luong Retreat
Today you leave Hanoi for Pu Luong Nature Reserve by road via a breathtaking mountain pass giving you a panoramic view of the whole valley. Check-in and lunch at the beautiful retreat. In the afternoon you have a transfer to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you begin your walk in search of stunning water wheels. Upon arrival a local fisherman’s house, you have a short rest to gear up for the rafting adventure. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, in between learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts. You disembark at the Tan Lap Bridge and join your car back to Pu Luong Retreat for dinner.
Day 4: Enthralling trekking | Meal: B -L - D | Overnight: Pu Luong Retreat
Start early to descend into the beautiful valley facing the Retreat where you walk around tumbling rice terraces. Trek through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Continuing to the base of the valley, you weave between roads and farmland, villages and wild fields, ponds and rivers, mountains and open land. Savour the ever-changing scenery as you trek to a beautiful spot. Then you have a transfer back to Puluong Retreat for lunch. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 5: Pu Luong – Hanoi | Meal: B | Overnight: Hanoi
Breakfast and enjoy the morning at the Retreat before you drive back to Hanoi. Again enjoy the breathtaking mountain view. After check-in hotel in Hanoi it is free time to refresh. In the morning you leave Hanoi for Halong Bay via the Red River Delta. Enjoy welcome drink onboard then start cruising through Bai Tu Long Bay while lunch is served. Stop to visit and explore Vung Vieng fishing village by bamboo boat or you can have a kayak around Vung Vieng area. Time to relax, sunbath or swimming at Ban Chan Beach. This underground complex is a must-see when you are in HCMC. Today you have am excursion to the Mekong Delta. Surrounded by thousands of crisscrossed canals, life in the Mekong Delta revolves much around the river, most of the villages are often accessible by rivers and canals rather than by road. Upon arrival you take a motor-boat to explore the Thoi Son islet. Following a village path passing local houses to visit some family-run coconut candy mills then you take a horse-cart from village to village. Enjoy lunch with local special dishes followed by the “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, a very common art activity in the Mekong Delta performed by local people. Rejoin your car for a drive to Can Tho.
Early wake up today to join in the Cai Rang floating market, one of the most exciting activities you should do when you are in this area. Take a motorized boat to join the market and experience how people exchange goods, fruit and many other commodities on their vessels. You also find floating restaurants, floating bars, floating gas stations, and many other floating shops. Back to the shore and take a bike cycling from village to village on path, over monkey bridges, get in touch with local people. Lunch is at local restaurant before driving back to HCMC.
